Blogging

I’ve been a blogger for nearly ten years.  Initially, I created a blog to support a product that my partner and I were manufacturing.  Then, I transitioned to an art blog where I sold subscription boxes and art course.  I did moderately well, but stepped away from the industry for many reasons.  After a season of prayer, I felt that God was calling me to create a blog to support and equip Christian women as they live a Proverbs 31 life in today’s world.

increased blog traffic

The first two blogs were moderate and over time (up to three years) built up some decent web traffic.  When I started Woman of Noble Character in June of 2017, I figured that I would simply take what I had learned (both fails and successes) from the first two blogs and apply them to the new one.  Then, I got really fancy, I spent thousands of dollars on a coach.  While the coach was amazing – she knew her stuff when it came to building an academy and hammering down my ideal customer, she didn’t specialize in blogging or how to drive traffic to a site.

I spent months working and working but only seeing minimal results. I was frustrated and learning how to increase blog traffic became mission number one.

(If you want to see more about my blogging journey, you can find that first post here).

You can make all of the connections you want in Facebook groups, but if you are not seeing increased blog traffic, you won’t be selling much.  That goes for whether you are set up for affiliate sales or selling your own products and courses.

After six months of blogging and not reaching much over 3K page views per month, I began searching for answers.

Those answers came when I read a Facebook post about an amazing gal who went from 0 page views to over 30K pageviews per month in just FOUR months.  WHAT? I had to know what her secret was.  She shared with me that all she did was study and apply the Pinterest strategy from Billionaire Blog Club

On January 1st, I joined Billionaire Blog Club, run by and taught by Paul Scrivens and dove right in to the courses and almost immediately increased my blog traffic.

The first thing that I was impressed by (and there were many) is just how many courses and mini-courses are included in the program.

Even though, at the time, my blog was established (I had over 100 blog posts published), I started from the beginning and went through the courses in the recommended order, starting with niche selection and Pinterest.

Scrivs, as he is known by his students, goes through, in detail, what makes a great Pin for Pinterest and how to use (and implement) BoardBooster for optimal results.

Let’s take a look at my blog traffic stats before I joined BBC (Billionaire Blog Club) and after one month of implemented strategies:

It’s important to note that although my bounce rate and average session duration went down, I had a goof on how one thing was installed on my site and when it was fixed, the numbers for those indices were skewed.

One month of applying Billionaire Blog Club methods and my page views soared.  As you can see, I increased my blog traffic in one month by 121%!  As of this writing, I had my best ever page view day yesterday (870, which, if maintained for the entire month, would translate into 26K).  This stuff works!

The increased blog traffic has resulted in my best ever month for not just affiliate sales but sales of my paid programs, as well.

Over 80% of the increased blog traffic was from Pinterest. In a future post, I’ll share more about my increased blog traffic from Pinterest.

So, what else is amazing about Billionaire Blog Club?

  • In addition to the courses already posted, more courses are coming over the next few months and Scrivs continually updates the teaching to include the best and newest techniques.
  • The Slack Channel just for BBC members.  The community is AMAZING!  If you have a question, you can ask on Slack and usually within minutes, a fellow BBCer will help you out.  They are also the BEST cheerleaders ever and will celebrate wins and comisserate over failures, as well.
  • Scrivs is available by both Slack and email for individual support.  WHAT?  Yes, need to know why something isn’t working or if you’ve set up Boardbooster the right way?  Ask Scrivs and he will answer quickly and, in many cases, actually go in and look at your set up to give feedback.  Seriously, what online instructor gives that level of support?
  • The Challenges designed to help you grow your subscribers, your page views and your affiliate sales and even create your first paid product!
  • The Member Exchange allows you to post “tasks”, such as pinning a pin or commenting on a blog post to help your site get a bit more love

While you can buy several of the BBC courses separately, buying the entire program gives you lifetime access and all future courses.  At $499 for the entire program, it is an investment in your blog and your financial future.  Most programs, which don’t include nearly as much content or value, are priced even higher. This was, hands down, the best investment that I’ve made for my blog and business since starting.

Billionaire Blog Club (the whole shebang)

If you aren’t ready to dive into the full program, you can purchase the individual courses, as well.

Where to Share YOur Blog posts

When I started blogging, I expected to write a blog post and have hundreds of people reading my posts right away.  Clearly, that was a bit unrealistic.  As a blogger, we spend hours writing great content and then…crickets…no one is landing on our site or reading our posts.  It can be frustrating or even depressing.  […]
