Steph Carse – My Shining Hour
Recently, I was provided a copy of My Shining Hour by Steph Carse to review. I love Christian music – praising and worshipping our Savior to music helps me to connect with the words and to our God. I was excited to receive the CD to add to my collection of music and listen to a fresh new voice on the music scene.

Steph Carse has a unique style and has taken some Christian music classics and added his spin to them.
I loved the CD and the variety of music – from the slow, moving hymn of Amazing Grace to the The Lord’s Prayer as a song.
His voice is smooth and relevant and his faith is felt in his music.

Here’s a bit about Steph Carse from his website:
Steph Carse has honed his skills as a world-class vocalist, traveling the world singing anthems of hope and inspiration, selling over half a million records along the way and garnering friends and fans everywhere he goes. It’s been a journey nearly a quarter of a century in the making, but one that is gaining focus and purpose like never before.
His newest project, My Shining Hour, is a collection of deeply personal original songs of faith, alongside stirring renditions of “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art,” Elvis Presley’s “Crying in the Chapel” and Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love.” Like Reach Out, his previous project, My Shining Hour is being produced as an album and television special to air internationally.
This new project is a powerful statement delivered by an artist who has seen all his dreams come true, yet has experienced great loss. These experiences have drawn Steph closer to God. “After pursuing happiness through achievement and success for most of my life, I realized that my shining hour came at the moment I found boldness in my intimacy with God.”
He is now committed to using his gifts to serve others and bring glory to God. Carse has a compelling vision to help create a culture of people praying for one another and to empower them to fully reach their God-given potential. This vision is coming to fruition through his recorded music, live performances, the television specials, and his online web presence.
Carse began making his mark in the music world in the early nineties, singing French-language covers of popular country hits that took him to the top of the Canadian pop charts. This opened doors for him to start recording his own original songs, and then the award nominations began to come in.
As he traveled the world performing concerts, he continued writing and recording, even landing in Nashville, Tennessee for a period of time in the late ‘90s. It was a dif cult time for Steph, when no one saw the struggles he was personally going through. He also admits that these dif cult days drove him to become a stronger Christian, a better performer, and a better songwriter, simply because he had more to say.
